M3 Supercharger Kits – BMW E90, E92 M3 Tuning
Supercharging seems to be by far the most popular form of forced induction for the E90 & E92 M3. This is probably down to the lack of spaces with the V8 engine and lack of imagination when it comes to mounting the turbos.

ESS Tuning have a large range of supercharger solution for all M3s including the E90 and E92. Their supercharger kits for the E90 and E92 M3 start with 535bhp at the flywheel and are a fit and forget solution.
Featuring the newly developed, self contained Vortech V3 supercharger unit in Si trim which is capable of up to 775hp.
The E9x M3 VT1-535 supercharger system comes with an especially developed cast aluminium manifold assembly with built in velocity stacks. The VT1 non-intercooled configuration uses a similar cast aluminium manifold assembly without the integrated heat exchanger. The supercharger system includes redesigned ESS MSS60 engine control software that is perfectly calibrated for the supercharged engine providing optimum ignition timing under all conditions, recalibrated EGas for quicker throttle response, recalibrated VANOS control and perfectly optimized fuel delivery supplied by 8 larger Bosch Motorsport injectors.
Active Autowerke are famous for their big power supercharger kits and the kits they have for the E90 and E92 M3 are no different. Their kits start at 560bhp at the flywheel.
The advanced design and sleek features of the Active Autowerke Supercharger System include a front mount air-to-air intercooler system with a separate oil cooler for the supercharger unit’s independent oil system. The Active Autowerke Supercharger Plenum replaces the factory air box and is designed to have an OEM-type look with custom finishes available at the customer’s request. The Active Autowerke Supercharger Plenum has been designed with eight high-flow velocity stacks, and large three inch intercooler piping to supply cooled air.
Gintani. This is a new name to us bu they have a supercharger kit that uses a Vortech supercharger. They offer a range of power stages. No power figures though at the time of writing.

Thorney Motorsport. Thorney are a BMW tuning specialist based in the UK. While they do not offer a turbo kit or a supercharger kit for the E90 and E92 M3, the do offer M3 tuning packages which includes ECU remaps combined with performance exhaust systems to give impressive power gains.
The E92 M3 V8 is an amazing engine, 8500RPM from a V8 – genius. However, the standard mapping is fairly docile. We remedy this with an improved throttle response and a better mid-range performance. Peak power is increased to 430BHP but this doesn’t tell the entire story.
G-Power are famous for their “Hurricane” models. G-Power have various stages of M3 supercharger kits for the E90 and E92 3 Series. Kits use ASA superchargers
Forced Induction: ASA T1-521 supercharger; supercharger lubrication through bypass from motor oil circuit; ultra stiff, weight optimized CNC shaped supercharger bracket system made from aluminium including an extended support aggregate belt drive for the supercharger’s drive.
Evosport. Something completely different. A lightweight crank pulley claimed to make an extra 11bhp.
