S2000 Performance Part Power Test
Honda S2000 performance part power test as carried out by Import Tuner Magazine. A standard base line figure was taken on an unmodified S2000, the parts were then added individually and power measurements taken to determine the power gains achieved by each of the performance parts.

S2000 Background

The Honda S2000 is Honda's offering to the lightweight roadster market. The S2000 is equipped with a high revving F20C motor which produces 186.9bhp and 117.8 lbs/ft at the wheels in the case of this standard/unmodified test car.

Comments: The Skunk2 exhaust installed very easily.

1500 to 3500rpm: +2-3lbs/ft
3500 to 5500rpm: +3-4lbs/ft

Comments: Removal and refitting of manifold is very awkward due to space constraints.

AEM (EMS) Engine Management Systems

Specs: Preprogrammed base maps, plug and play. Included EMS Unit, O2 Sensor, Leads, Instructions, Stickers

Power Gains:
1500 to 3500rpm: +2-8whp
3500 to 5500rpm: +1-2whp
5500 to redline: +3-6whp

Torque Gains:
1500 to 3500rpm: +4-16lbs/ft
3500 to 5500rpm: +2-3lbs/ft
5500 to redline: +4-10lbs/ft

Although power gains from the EMS appear to be quite low power curve was smoothed out dramatically from the previous power curve.
