Predicted Results Table
The table should be pretty self explanatory
First line shows when the table was last updated
Second line shows for which gameweek the Premier League predictions are for
GS is goals scored
GC is goals conceded
Home xG predicted goals for home team in the fixture
Away xG vice versa
Special Sauce
And the one we are really interested in, xG adjusted.
This is some special sauce to put the raw xG into some sort of context. It looks at who the teams have played, where they have played and how they have performed against those teams.
Why Negatives?!?!
Why do some teams have a negative number for goals scored?
Honestly, the negative numbers could have just been made a zero. But I thought that would lose some information. Sure negative goals aren’t going to happen but I think what it can say is, how unlikely the goal is, the bigger the negative, the less likely. Just having a zero would lose that.
Data Used
All data is from Premier League itself and is publicly available. The sauce is made from combining the data in a way we think is most effective. Of course, no guarantees!!
Background
This tool was created on the 15th of October 2025 and the algorithm will be subject to constant adjustment if we see fit.
Feedback
We will be doing weekly videos and articles going through what the predictions are for the next gameweek/game and there will also be articles and videos giving a recap of how the tool did and what if any improvements we think need to be made.
Why?
Why does this tool exist?
To improve management strategies for the Fantasy Premier League. It may seem obvious that a team is playing badly, but….
“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”
Mark Twain?
