Politicising the Safety Committee
National Seismic Risk Committee has been politicised according to Akis Tselentis, Former Director of the Geodynamic Institute in his resignation letter. He claims, the government has sent people to monitor their meetings without recording their names in the minutes.
I cannot accept the arbitrary imposition by the political leadership to include additional members in the NSRAC meetings without their appointment being officially published.

You’d think the government would want some plausible deniability in their earthquake response. Perhaps not publishing the names of their representatives in there meetings is how they do it…..

Shawn Willsey – “Pump the brakes”
Shawn Willsey has waded in with his analysis of the situation so far. He is a geology professor. In short his analysis is in line with the Greek authorities, that the Santorini earthquakes are not magmatic and are entirely fault driven.
The basis for this opinion is down to a few things.
The first is that the earthquake swarm is not near Santorini and that is where the magma chamber is. The second is that no uplift has been recorded. And third, there was a similar situation in Idaho where a swarm of earthquakes lasted for two weeks and which ended with no large earthquake event. In short his opinion is people need to push the brakes with regards to creating drama around this Aegean earthquake swarm. It is an active area, it is to be expected.
A couple of things I would say about his analysis.
Magma
There is an magma chamber under the centre of the earthquake swarm. You can read about it here. The chamber is supposed to be located at 6-7km deep and the cracks above the chamber could open and release magma in the future. This paper was written in 2021.
Looking on this map we can see this island is surrounded by 4+ Richter earthquakes at depths of around 8km.
A magma chamber under Kolumbo has also been detected.
No Uplift
Lack of evidence is not evidence. I think Shawn is right, no recording of uplift has been recorder around Anydros. But I think that is because there has been no recording at all. Again, lack of evidence is not evidence. To my knowledge, no source has said “there is no uplift of Anydros”. Either there are no measurements occurring or no one is saying what the data shows. I think if data was being recorded and it showed no uplift, the public would know about it.
USGS
In his video he is using USGS numbers. In the link article I gave, I stated USGS is no longer reporting all the quakes and their depth details are not accurate vs the other sources listed on that page.
Stefan Burns “Leave”
I feel sure this is the type of video Shawn would like to see the brakes pushed on. The thumbnail is a bit much. In Stefan’s latest Santorini update he goes hard on the supposed correlation between the Moon and Uranus and how that may have been part of the cause of the Turkey earthquake. His argument being the alignment is similar now in Santorini as we approach the spring tides. He also covers electrical frequency detectors and how they detected increased amplitudes prior to the Turkey earthquake and the large 4+ Richter swarm in Santorini on the 10th of Feb. A lot of hypotheticals.
Silke “Why sleep in your car and not leave”
A lay commentator (like myself) giving Santorini updates on YouTube. She details testimonies from people who live on the island, what they are doing and why.
My Opinion
Anyros should be showered with sensors monitoring uplift. If uplift is not currently being measured there, that seems like a massive oversight. To put it mildly.
