Skai, mainstream Greek TV channel (with subtitles) – “Amorgos fault capable of triggering 8+ Richter quake”
The most in-depth analysis I have seen on the earthquake swarm close to Santorini and Amorgos islands.
To condense the video down to some key points.
The earthquakes around Anydros (the uninhabited island at the centre of the earthquake swarm) are fine. Due to the nature of the faults in that area. The faults in that area are not capable of producing a large earthquake, up to 6 Richter max.
The doctor in the interview said they do not want the earthquakes to move towards Amorgos island because that is a major fault which is capable of triggering 8+ Richter earthquakes. And she also says they do not want to see the earthquakes move down to wards Kolumbo undersea volcano because that could trigger an eruption because Kolumbo is an active volcano.
Listening to her analysis was reassuring. If I was going to be picky I’d say she ignored the fact that there is a magma chamber of some description at the centre of the earthquake swarm under Anydros island.

Seismographs – “Calming down”
Generally it looks like the 13th of Feb up to 9:41GMT shows a considerable calming down of earthquakes, relative to the last 10 days. Earthquakes still occurring but few today are above 3 Richter. There have been “only” five 3+ Richter quakes in the past 5 hours. Normally that would be hugely unusual.
