If you needed any more evidence of the elitism in F1, this rule change is prime example.
Why does F1 insist that only a top 10 driver can get the points?
Wouldn’t it be nice to see the lower team battling it toward the engine of the race with pit stops on a light fuel load to try and salvage something from the weekend?
You know, spread the entertainment throughout the field
F1 gives points to the top 10 drivers anyway, who is going to risk doing in pit stop in the last 5 laps to try and get that fastest lap point when they are already in a position to score at LEAST 1 point?
No one, that’s who. This rule will make zero difference
