Rather than allowing a turbo to be controlled by the forces of nature an electronic boost controller lets you decide how much boost you want and when you want it. You control the boost pressure, not the exhaust gases. Because boost controllers give you more control of your turbo, engine mapping becomes significantly easier as you don’t have to map for unforseen boost spikes and unpredictable or unwanted pressures. Boost controllers also give cars more power and faster responses due to the wastegate staying closed until desired pressure is reached.

AEM Tru Boost
The AEM Tru Boost lacks a lot of the functionality of more complex boost controllers but it easy to set up and cheaper.

AEM’s TRU-BOOST Gauge-Type Controller is an electronic boost controller that combines the simplicity of a manual boost controller with the added ease of adjusting boost levels through a gauge interface. There is no external interface required for set up, and it is fully functional right out of the box. There are no gimmicks or special software programs included. If you want more boost press the button on the right of the gauge face, and if you want less boost press the button on the left of the gauge face. It’s that simple, and IT WORKS!

Apexi AVC-R
One of most respected boost controllers on the market. If you can imagine what a boost controller should do, the Apexi AVC-R does it.

The AVC-R is a digital boost controller that allows the user to modify the boost pressure level on turbocharged vehicles. While there are many boost controllers on the market, none of the other includes as many features as the AVC-R, period. Despite all of the complex features included the unit, the AVC-R is flexible enough to be used by beginners. Entry level users need only to input a desired boost level and the AVC-R’s trademark self learning CPU processor does the rest.The AVC-R also uses a highly durable, fast action solenoid valve to physically control the boost . The valve movement (Boost Duty Cycle) can also be modified. Raising the duty cycle increases boost response, while lowering the duty cycle will slow boost response. This feature allows boost response adjustment for varying turbo sizes. Since larger turbos take longer to spool up ( bad low end response) the duty cycle should be raised under lower RPM’s for better response

2.Under deceleration, there is a difference between actual and calculated fuel consumption. Therefore, instantaneous gas mileage varies from actual gas mileage when decelerating.
3.Average gas mileage is the average value when the main unit is on. (From IGN ON to current) Every time IGN is turned off, the previous data is cleared.
7.Up to 6 data can be displayed out of 16 kinds of data.

Greddy Profec
The ultimate in electronic boost control is incorporated in our multi-tasker, the PRofec e-01. Designed as a combination boost-controller, data display/logger and original e-manage programmer. The e-01 can provide superior boost response, increased boost, warning meter functions, 3 channel data-logging and access to programming features provided with the e-manage support tool. Even when used as a boost controller only, the e-01 has features to smooth out the boost curve. With both an auto and manual setting for both external and actuator style wastegates, the PRofec e-01 can alter its compact, high capacity solenoid valve via various RPM ranges. The large LCD screen with green electro-luminescent backlighting is easy to see. Other standard features include two preset boost levels, a timed over-take boost and compatibility with our Remote Switching System. The data display can view 3 different data channels simultaneously such as boost, RPM or any other channel inputted by the e-manage. The data can be logged up for 3 hours on an SD card while also giving warning set points and peak and hold values. There is also a non-PRofec e-01 version that is only used for e-manage programming and datalogging. (Some features require optional harness to be accessed.)

The PRofec B-Spec2 integrates all the basics of an electronic boost controller, with additional useful options. Use the built-in boost gauge (psi or kPa) to tune in a Lo. & Hi. SET % to raise the boost pressure, then optimize consistency and response with GAIN % and adjust the START GAIN to set initial wastegate response. Also built-in are optional: Warning point, Warning limiter, and peak & last boost record. Compatible with integral and external wastegates and our RSS or SCC’s optional speed trigger.

As easy to use as a manual boost controller, but with advanced electronic boost controller response, the PRofec Type-S keeps things simple. Two rotary switches select two independent boost setting (Lo. and a Hi.), while third, GAIN switch adjusts the wastegate’s valve response. Matched with a large capacity inline control solenoid, the Type-S works with both integral and external wastegate set-ups. It is also still compatible with our RSS or SCC.
