Mono Tube vs Twin Tube
Modified magazine interviewed a product engineer at Bilstein to explain the difference between twin tube and mono tube dampers and to explain which is the best.
The short version of the article is that monotube is best because the surface area of the valve that lets the oil through is larger in a monotube damper than in a twin tube damper. This allows the damper manufacturer to more finely tune the characteristics of the damper because they have more surface area to play with.
