Is Oil Consumption A “Problem” with VAG 1.4 TSI Motors?

EVO Magazine reported that oil consumption on a Polo GTI they had on long-term test was surprising and above what they were expecting.

In issue 160 of the magazine they report that the Fabia VRS they have on test is also using more oil than they would expect, around a litre every 2800 miles.

Do you think this is grounds for a recall or is it normal?

  1. Considering how wide is the problem on all the cars that use this engine (A1, Polo GTI, Ibiza Fr and Bocanegra), a recall is at least necessary…!
