Huge Crash & Fire V8 Supercars Perth 2011
It has been a while since we have seen a big fire in motorsport but this was up there as one of the biggest fireballs we have seen anywhere in recent history.
It was the start of the second race in Perth of the Australian V8 Supercar Championship and a car has stalled, near enough, mid grid, most cars got past but the last car (Steve Owen) hit Karl Reindler at unabated speed which punted the rear-ended car clear off the track in a spectaculare fire. Reindler suffered superficial burns, Steve Owen was unhurt.
